| Bio: | ![]() "In the centre [of the shield of Herakles] was Phobos (Fear) worked in adamant, unspeakable, staring backwards with eyes that glowed with fire. His mouth was full of teeth in a white row, fearful and daunting, and upon his grim brow hovered frightful Eris (Strife) who arrays the throng of men . . ." Aeschylus, Seven Against Thebes 497 ff : "The warrior himself has raised the war-cry and, inspired by Ares he raves for battle like a Bakkhe (Bacchante), with a look to inspire fear. We must put up a good defense against the assault of such a man, for already Phobos (Rout) is boasting of victory at the gate." Quintus Smyrnaeus, Fall of Troy 5. 25 ff (trans. Way) (Greek epic C4th A.D.) : "And there [depicted on the shield of Akhilleus] were man-devouring wars, and all horrors of fight . . . Phobos (Panic) was there, and Deimos (Dread), and ghastly Enyo with limbs all gore-bespattered hideously, and deadly Eris (Strife)." Nonnus, Dionysiaca 29. 364 ff : "In hot haste he [Ares] leapt up, and awoke Phobos (Rout) and Deimos (Terror) to yoke his deadly quickrunning car. They obeyed their urgent father. Furious Deimos set the crooktooth bit in the horses’ mouths, and fastened their obedient necks under the yokestrap, and fitted the neckloop on each : Ares mounted the car, and Phobos took the reins and drove his father’s chariot." "What's that? Soiled yourself, did you? And now your crying for your mother? Pathetic. Yes, at this point you are completely and utterly useless, so you might as well just flee while you can. If you run fast enough, you might even live to shame yourself another day. I am Phobos, twin brother to Deimos, and son to Ares and Aphrodite. While my brother and I do not always see eye to eye, we are unstoppable when we do unite, as few can stand before both Panic and Fear. Still, though I do appreciate the good fight, I am generally much more laid back than my father, in that I do not typically seek out conflict. There's simply so much more I would rather do with my immortality than butt heads on a continual basis. Alhough I am an Olympian, I have a vested interest in the Underworld, which has caused me no small amount of grief given the recent civil war. Unable to choose a side for fear of wounding someone I care about, I removed myself from the war entirely. It was only after I entered Concept that I realized my error though, and so now I find myself trying to pick up the broken pieces of the war I missed out on."
